Igor Jesus is not the name you think of when you think of the star-studded Brazilian team that features the likes of Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior, and others. Yet the youngster has made a major impact on his first start for his nation this evening against Chile.
The Botafogo striker has been impressing for his club, and was drafted in for a surprise start in a World Cup Qualifier against Chile.
Dorival Júnior’s side have had a torrid time as of late, winning just three of their first nine qualifiers, raising major alarm bells around the nation. And they found themselves 1-0 down inside two minutes Thursday evening.
