Scorers: Man 2′, Cancellieri 77′; Pulisic 66′
Parma got off to the perfect start as they took the lead just two minutes in, with Denis Man grabbing his second goal in as many games when he tapped in unmarked from a cross from the left.
Milan grew into the game and began to dominate by the midway point of the first half, with Zion Suzuki forced into an excellent save to deny Davide Calabria from a corner.
Paolo Fonseca’s side continued to see more of the ball as the half wore on but couldn’t find an equaliser, heading into the break behind for the second successive game.
Like in their draw with Torino a week ago though, they found their groove somewhat as the game went on and were level just after the hour mark when Christian Pulisic tapped into an empty net after Rafael Leao squared the ball to the USMNT forward.
But as they pushed for a winner they were stunned once more by the hosts 13 minutes from time. Substitute Almqvist was the architect, running down the left flank before teeing up fellow sub Matteo Cancellieri to restore Parma’s advantage in the closing stages.
Milan pushed for a second equaliser, but despite their best efforts they couldn’t dig out another clear cut chance, falling to defeat and continuing Paulo Fonseca’s tough start to life in Italy.
