The United States’ Copa América Group C showdown with Panama had descended into chaos Thursday evening in Atlanta.
While the U.S. were dominant in the opening 20 minutes, they appeared to dig themselves a hole when Timothy Weah was sent off for violent conduct.
The Juventus man seemed to let his frustration get the better of him when he took a swing at a Panamanian defender behind the play. But VAR is always watching, and Weah was given his marching orders.
Dramatically, the United States took the lead shortly after when Folarin Balogun sent a stunning shot in off the post just minutes later to shock their Group C rivals.
The chaos would not stop there however, as the celebrations barely came to an end before Cesar Blackman quieted the pro-USA crowd by beating Matt Turner with a shot from around the penalty-spot.
Get your popcorn ready folks, we’re in for crazy night of Copa América.
