Birmingham City defender Lee Buchanan will miss the rest of the season with a “severe” knee injury.
The 23-year-old had to be stretchered off after suffering the injury in the opening minutes of Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Blackpool and boss Chris Davies said after the match that it “didn’t look good”.
The former Derby County and Werder Bremen man was making only his fourth appearance of the season after missing the start of Blues’ League One campaign with a calf problem.
“[It’s] a severe injury and [he] will be out for the rest of the season unfortunately,” Davies told the club website after Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at Stockport.
