On Friday evening, Beerschot finally won a game in the Belgian Pro League. The side, promoted from the second tier as champions last year, had only picked up two points from 10 games. Yet one of their summer signings announced himself in Belgian football at the weekend with a brace against Anderlecht.
20-year-old Marwan Al Sahafi has had to wait some time to make his debut. Visa problems kept him and fellow Saudi Faisel Al-Ghamdi from the pitch, yet both are now getting extended game time. Al-Ghamdi has been solid enough in central areas, but it was Al Sahafi who stole the show. The youngster, on loan from Al Ittihad, grabbed two goals, one a great solo goal, as Beerschot beat Anderlecht 2-1 at home. The forward completed 100% of his dribbles as well, one of which led to the opener.

With Beerschot looking to sit deep and play on the counter, the dribbling ability and pace of Al Sahafi suited the tactic well. Prior to the win over Anderlecht, the side were seen as pretty much relegated. Now, they at least have a chance of proving people wrong.
