EFL League One side Charlton Athletic‘s goalkeeper Joe Wollacott was injured when the goal fell on him during a training session with the Ghana national team at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper was training in preparation for an Africa Cup of Nations match against Angola when the moveable goal inexplicably fell on him.
Fortunately, Joe Wollacott, who narrowly missed a blow to the head and was quickly attended to by medical services, suffered no major injury and will be able to play against Angola.
The Ghana Football Federation reported that “Goalkeeper Joseph Wollacott limped off during training after suffering a soft tissue contusion to the big toe of his right foot. He was immediately assessed by the medical team and received emergency treatment.”
