A lightning signing… and an atypical presentation. Chelsea, who paid 100 million euros for Mykhaylo Mudryk, introduced the Ukrainian winger to their fans at half-time of their Premier League fixture with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
The player was present in the stands in West London to watch the derby between Chelsea and Palace, which was 0-0 at half-time when he was introduced, with Graham Potter‘s side showing clear signs of needing the Ukrainian winger on the pitch.
“I’m very happy to sign for Chelsea,” Mudryk said after completing his move, despite having openly hinted at a strong desire to join Arsenal for weeks before Chelsea swooped for him.
“This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it’s a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new teammates and I’m looking forward to working and learning with Graham Potter and his staff.”
One hundred million euros is what Chelsea paid to beat off competition from Arsenal, who were the club most interested in the 22-year-old talent. Mudryk has signed a contract until June 2030.
