It is now official. Real Valladolid have taken up the option to sign Cyle Larin from Club Brugge, despite their relegation to LaLiga SmartBank, Spain’s second division.
The striker, who joined on loan from Brugge in the last winter transfer window, signs for two seasons, until June 2025, after accumulating more than 1,400 minutes for Valladolid across 19 games in which he scored eight goals and provided three assists. Larin is a Canadian international, for whom he played in the World Cup in Qatar and this month lost the final of the CONCACAF Nations League.
Will he stay at Real Valladolid?
After starting his career in his home country and a spell in the United States, the striker was signed by Turkish side Besiktas before arriving in Belgium, where he played for Zulte Waregem and Brugge. There, he made his debut in the Champions League before being loaned to Valladolid due to his loss of form for the Belgian team.
Now, Real Valladolid are buying the player for 1.5 million euros, although this does not mean that he will stay with La Pucela. In fact, the idea of the Spanish side is to sell him for a larger sum this summer, as he has received interest from other teams.
