Fans have been left angry at the catering at Everton’s home ground, Goodison Park.
The Toffees have been enduring a torrid season and it turns out they have been forced to eat awful food whilst watching their team.
The standard cheeseburger at Everton will set you back 4.50, which be Premier League stadium prices, is not too bad. Despite the price, fans have been left feeling short-changed.
Fans lay into Everton burger
The Twitter account Footy Scran, which is dedicated to sharing food pictures from football grounds, be they good or bad, was sent an image of a very sad looking burger at Everton.
It left fans wondering if the burger had been “in the freezer since the 1995 FA Cup final” as they gave the cook a good grilling.
One tweeted: “They lose on and pitch and on scran. Championship worthy food for a Championship worthy Club.” Another replied: “A relegation burger.”
A third follower said: “Appears to be about as joyless as their season thus far.”
“The cheese looks like a fruit roll up,” said another, whilst someone else said: “That’s a post-it note on top, and it should read ‘remember to add cheese, relish and pickles;”.
One fan claimed: “This is exactly why we deserve to go down. I’d be angry if I got handed that at a homeless shelter.”
Despite the theme of comparing the burger to Everton’s season, the image actually came from a game shortly before Everton travelled down to Brighton and amazingly won 5-1.
The victory gives Sean Dyche‘s side a fighting chance at avoiding relegation from the Premier League, which could lead to even worse food at the stadium.
