Inter Milan kept cool heads to see off Feyenoord and book their place in the Champions League quarterfinals against Bayern Munich.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, commend the Nerazzurri for a mature, composed display in the round of sixteen second leg.
On paper, Inter Milan were the clear favourites against Feyenoord yesterday evening.
Even without a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, the Nerazzurri certainly had more quality and experience than the Rotterdam-based team.
However, football is not played on paper.
Therefore, there were still big potential pitfalls.
Particularly against a Feyenoord team who had nothing to lose. The Eredivisie side were always going to come out with an aggressive, high-intensity gameplan to try and force errors out of Inter.

But Inter saw out the Feyenoord pressure.
This was a result of the Nerazzurri’s superior technical quality, undoubtedly.
But there was also a big psychological factor to Inter’s performance.
Inter Milan could not be too complacent. They will have known that they needed a goal to consolidate their first leg advantage.
But at the same time. The Nerazzurri could hardly play into Feyenoord’s hands by overcommitting in attack and leaving gaps at the back.
Inter found the right balance, though. They’ve faced teams like Feyenoord before, domestically and in Europe.
And the Nerazzurri showed the experience and composure to handle the assignment.
