A medical has now been scheduled by Manchester City for their incoming attacking star, Omar Marmoush following an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 25-year-old forward is expected to become the reigning Premier League champions’ third first-team signing of the ongoing January transfer window, as Pep Guardiola and his boardroom colleagues look to get their season back on track.
The City manager recently admitted in a media conference that he rejected the possibility of a major rebuild of his first-team squad during the summer market of 2024, instead believing that his existing group of players were able to compete at the very highest level.
“The club thought about it (a squad rebuild in 2023) and I said, ‘No, I don’t want to make any signings. I want to rely on the team, I want to stay with them’. Just Savio came, Gundo back – it was unexpected,” Guardiola told reporters.
He continued, “I rely a lot with these guys and thought still I can do it again with that guys. But after the injuries, ‘WOW! Maybe we should have done it’, but you never know.”
And as part of widespread recruitment throughout the first-team squad, that is expected to continue into the summer market this year, Manchester City are on the verge of adding further firepower in attack with the arrival of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to the information of Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Manchester City have now scheduled a medical for the incoming forward, who has set alight to the Bundesliga with his exceptional goalscoring form, which is due to take place on Monday 20 January.
From the side of Eintracht Frankfurt, it is reported that there is a clear agreement in place that will see Etihad Stadium bosses pay out a guaranteed €75 million fee, plus a further €5 million in bonuses, taking the total package up to €80 million.
However, additional reporting from Fabrizio Romano has highlighted that there has been a small change on the agreed transfer fee between the two clubs, it will be worth €75m total package, Manchester City agreed on every detail.
This is a developing story. More to follow.
