Yunus Musah‘s move to AC Milan from Valencia looks to be close to completion.
The Italian side has increased its offer to close to 20 million euros including add-ons, which looks to have satisfied the Spanish side.
Musah has been committed to joining the Rossoneri for weeks, but Valencia owner Peter Lim made it clear he wouldn’t let the player leave for less than 20 million euros.
Initially, Valencia had asked for 25 million euros, but no club – not even one in England – came close to that amount. Milan have shown the most interest in landing the American international, which is why he was willing to wait for the Rossoneri and Valencia to finalize an agreement.
Directors at the Mestalla club remain prudent because there some important details that have to be wrapped up. Among them is a formal written offer which Valencia can officially accept.
However, the framework of a deal looks to have been agreed after several weeks of tug of war between the two clubs. It should also be noted that Yunus joined pre-season training later due to his international commitments, and that he has only been able to play 45 minutes of a friendly and missed several training sessions due to a knee problem.
Valencia are happy with the fee of 20 million euros because they don’t believe they will receive a higher bid from another club for the player. As a result, Yunus will leave Valencia at just 20 years of age but with almost 100 matches for the club, making him quite the interesting prospect.
Having said that, he was disappointing after the World Cup, which led to Ruben Baraja dropping him on a few occasions. Valencia know that by selling Yunus, that could help keep Mamardashvili, though this remains to be seen given there is more than a month left of the summer transfer window.
