In the year since signing from Middlesbrough, Morgan Rogers has quickly become a standout for Aston Villa, and his assist against Tottenham is his latest goal contribution this season.
His ball to Jacob Ramsey was brilliant, and showed off his playmaking ability. He now has six assists to go with his 10 goals, putting him behind only Villa’s most renowned forward in the contributions rankings.
With Watkins out tonight, the 22-year-old has taken up the mantle in perfect style.
Morgan Rogers has been directly involved in 16 goals across all competitions this season. Ollie Watkins (21) is the only Aston Villa player with more G/A.
Unreal signing. More top sides need to ship in the Championship. 💰 pic.twitter.com/9xN6kuhoK8

With Marcus Rashford and Marcos Asensio now at Villa, as well as Donyell Malen, there is plenty of competition for places up front, but Rogers is fast becoming the first name on the team sheet for Unai Emery.
A call up to Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad appears imminent.
