La Repubblica newspaper reports that Napoli tried to delay Randal Kolo Muani’s move to Juventus as the Partenopei meet the Bianconeri tomorrow.
Juventus announced Kolo Muani’s loan move from PSG on Thursday, and several sources in Italy, including La Repubblica, claim that the French striker could already start in Saturday’s big game against Napoli at the Stadio Maradona.
The Italian newspaper also reports that Napoli tried to use their friendly relationship with PSG director Luis Campos to further delay Kolo Muani’s move to Turin.
Napoli tried to delay Kolo Muani Juventus transfer
The French striker had landed in Italy last week, but Juventus could not complete the transfer because PSG had reached the limit for players out on loan.
Repubblica claims that once PSG overtook the bureaucratic obstacle, Napoli asked the Ligue 1 giants to hold on for a few more days until they met Juventus at the Stadio Maradona.
However, PSG were happy to release the player for Juventus as soon as possible, not only because President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is on excellent terms with Thiago Motta but also because the PSG owner and ECA President was happy to shake hands with a Serie A giant who has recently been reintroduced to the European Club Organisation after the Super League affair.
Repubblica adds that Napoli were unhappy that Juventus agreed to terminate Danilo’s contract, but only if the Brazilian didn’t join the Partenopei on a free transfer.
Danilo did rescind his contract with the Bianconeri this week to join Brazilian side Flamengo.
