Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are all set to battle it out in the first El Clasico of the 2024/25 season in a couple of hours at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ahead of the kickoff, Carlo Ancelotti has unveiled the Real Madrid starting lineup that will be taking on the current La Liga leaders in the hope of going level on points with them with a win.
Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, both of whom were benched against Borussia Dortmund in midweek, return to the starting lineup.
They partner Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham in the Merengues’ midfield unit, with there being no place in the team for first captain Luka Modric.
Elsewhere, Andriy Lunin steps into the goal following the injury to Thibaut Courtois earlier this week. Lucas Vazquez, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, and Ferland Mendy form the defensive line shielding the Ukrainian.
Up top, Kylian Mbappe makes his El Clasico debut and will be raring to go and make a difference in the biggest match of his Real Madrid career thus far.
The French ace is partnered by Vinicius Jr., who is high on confidence after his match-winning hat-trick in midweek against Dortmund.
