Barcelona continue to work at full speed in order to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor before January 1, the date after which the registration made for the first part of the season will no longer be valid.
A decision from the Court of First Instance regarding the lawsuit filed by Barcelona, requesting the relevant precautionary measures to allow these registrations, is expected later today.
After the Commercial Court denied their request last Friday, the Catalan giants are not very optimistic about this second legal attempt.
One more step remains
As a result, this judicial route has taken a backseat since Joan Laporta reached an agreement last week in the Middle East for the sale of the new Spotify Camp Nou’s VIP boxes.
As reported by MARCA, there are two separate agreements, and the sum of both will provide the €100 million needed for the club to make Olmo and Pau Victor’s registrations official.
This also ensures that the Blaugrana will return to the 1:1 rule, enabling further signings in the future.
Barcelona have completed all necessary steps for this deal to be counted before January 1. Firstly, agreements were reached with Arab investors for the sale of these VIP boxes over the next 20 years.
Both contracts are now closed and signed, and the club has communicated this to La Liga.
Barcelona have been in constant contact with LaLiga to ensure everything complies with the league’s guidelines and to make progress with the necessary paperwork.
The club’s goal was to avoid presenting these agreements at the last minute before the registration deadline, in case they were rejected. In this regard, Barça are following the steps La Liga has outlined to ensure everything is in order.
However, there is still one final step being worked on in the last few hours, which is the certification that the funds have arrived.
The groups that have invested in these VIP boxes are financially solid, but La Liga requires this to be guaranteed with documentation.
For this reason, the Catalans are gathering all necessary information and passing it on to the league. Barcelona believe everything could be finalised today, but not with complete certainty.
