According to Paul Joyce, Ibrahima Konaté (25) is yet to agree to the terms that have been offered to him in order to sign a new contract with Liverpool. The France international defender’s contract with the Premier League side is set to expire in 2026.
Konaté is pivotal at the back for the Merseyside club and there has been a noticeable difference when he is not playing alongside Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk. Due to his sheer importance, the Reds have offered him a new deal to extend his stay at Anfield. However, despite this contract offer being made in late 2024, the 25-year-old is yet to agree a new deal.
PSG and Real Madrid interested
With Konaté’s deal set to expire in just over a year, this has piqued the interest of several clubs from around Europe. PSG and Real Madrid are both interested in the Liverpool centre-back should the 25-year-old be looking to move given he is yet to agree to new terms with the Premier League leaders.
