Real Madrid have won six of the seven Spanish Super Cup finals they’ve played against Barcelona and the two teams will face each other again on Sunday in the final of the tournament that is taking place in Saudi Arabia.
We have to go back to 2011 to find the last and only triumph of the Blaugrana against Los Blancos in the tournament.
Two more Spanish Super Cup finals between the two Spanish football giants have taken place since, with Real Madrid winning both in 2012 and 2017, with both of these being two-legged ties.
They also met in the new four-team format last year, when Los Blancos won 3-2 after extra time.
Below comes a look at all the times the rivals have met in finals, with Real Madrid holding a 6-1 record in these contests, that traditionally took place at the beginning of each new season.
