As reported just a while ago, Barcelona’s appeal to secure a precautionary measure from the court to register Dani Olmo in La Liga has been rejected.
Indeed, Judge Ignacio Fernández de Senespleda on Friday rejected Barça’s attempt to register the Spaniard through the means of a precautionary measure.
With the Catalans facing a race against time to register Olmo before the deadline of December 31, they are now looking at multiple avenues, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Resolution from another lawsuit
As per the report, the next step for Barcelona will be to await the judicial ruling on a different, new lawsuit filed against La Liga in the Court of First Instance, which also requests the precautionary measure to allow the player’s registration.
A resolution on that lawsuit, including Olmo’s registration issue, is expected on Monday, December 30.
Barcelona argue that the registration rules are invalid, as they are regulated by the Delegate Commission of La Liga, which the club considers an incompetent body.
Spotify Camp Nou VIP seats and Barça Vision
In addition to pursuing legal avenues, Barcelona are exploring other methods to secure Olmo’s registration in La Liga.
The club may sell long-term VIP seat packages for the future Spotify Camp Nou to generate extraordinary income.
As reported previously, the Blaugrana could rake in around €120 million from this operation, which would be enough for them to return to the 1:1 rule and register Olmo, Pau Victor, as well as the contract renewals of Pedri and Gavi.
However, the club were holding off on going down this route as they believed they could get a much higher fee for the VIP seat package with time. But time is running out now.
Meanwhile, negotiations with new investors in Barça Vision are also ongoing.
Personal guarantee
In addition, there is still the possibility that one or more members of the board may guarantee the registration with their personal assets.
Barça have used this tactic in the past to register players in La Liga, most notably Jules Kounde in 2022. They were unwilling to use this method again this time out but with very little time and not many options, the Catalans could be forced to tread this path.
