There is another trio of Concacaf Champions Cup matches this evening, and an MLS team is involved in each one.
Here is what has gone down so far around the grounds.
Costa Rican side Herediano stun RSL away from home
Scorers: Ajago 26′ ; Aguilar 70′, Vega (P) 90+8′
Real Salt Lake saw their Champions Cup campaign come to a shock end at the hands of Costa Rican outfit Herediano.
A lone Forster Ajago goal in the first-half broke the deadlock in the tie after a scoreless first-leg.
The visitors appeared to pull level on the night and stun the home crowd after the break, but Emerson Bravo’s goal was wiped off the board due to a foul in the buildup.
They did find joy later in the second interval however, as ElÃas Aguilar found the back of the net to give the visitors the lead on away goals.
As RSL pushed to pull reclaim the lead in the seventh minute of stoppage time, they were caught out at the back and Rafael Cabral was forced to bring down Randy Vega in the box, and the winger stepped up and dispatched the penalty close the door on the tie.
FC Cincinnati advance past Motagua with ease
Scorers: Denkey 19′ ; Auzmendi 9′
After an impressive first-leg win in Honduras, Cincinnati hardly needed to get out of first-gear to see out the result in the second-leg at home.
While their may have been one tiny intake of breath from the Cincinnati faithful when Rodrigo Auzmendi scored in the opening 10 minutes, the three-goal aggregate lead was restored just 10 minutes later by winter signing Kévin Denkey, his second goal in the tie.
After the break there was plenty of rotation from both sides as the result was seemingly set in stone.
With the qualification to the round-of-16 all wrapped up, Cincinnati will now face the daunting task of squaring off with Liga MX giants Tigres.
