50-year-old legend pitched a Royal Rumble appearance idea alongside his daughter; WWE has yet to contact him

WWE fans are buzzing with excitement as the upcoming premium live event, Royal Rumble, is less than a month away. Ahead of the show, wrestling legend Santino Marella revealed that he pitched an idea to make a cameo appearance in the iconic gimmick match, alongside his daughter, Arianna Grace.

In 2022, Grace signed with the Stamford-based promotion and joined the NXT brand. She wrestled Karmen Petrovic in her last match on July 9, 2024, on the black-and-silver brand, suffering a defeat. Since then, The Iron Princess has been sidelined due to injury and has yet to make her in-ring return.

During an interview on the No Name Wrestling podcast, Santino Marella confirmed that WWE has yet to contact him about appearing at the upcoming Royal Rumble on February 1, 2025. The former United States Champion discussed his daughter, Arianna Grace, who recently underwent shoulder surgery and is currently preparing for her in-ring return.

“Well, they [WWE] haven’t called yet. So, my daughter [Arianna Grace], she had a little shoulder surgery that… she’s back in the ring from it, but she hasn’t re-debuted yet,” Marella said.

The 50-year-old legend proposed a unique storyline involving a first-ever father-daughter duo entry in the multi-woman gimmick match, expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity to share this special moment with Grace on TV.

“So I was pitching… I don’t think it’s ever been done; father-daughter in the same Rumble. So, it [would] be really big for her to return to the programming and, you know, I’m down to show and just, yeah, just get that experience,” he added. [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]

Santino Marella’s daughter, Arianna Grace, shares interesting news with WWE fans

The Iron Princess recently took to social media to share exciting news with the wrestling world. A top WWE NXT star proposed to Santino Marella’s daughter, and the couple later became engaged.

On Instagram, Arianna Grace revealed that Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo of The D’Angelo Family stable proposed to her, and she said yes.

“Yes to forever. 🥹 Last night was so perfect, and I am so in love. ❤️ Excited to share… we are engaged!!!!!!!! Woooohoooo!!!!!” she wrote.
