WWE Superstars CM Punk and Seth Rollins will square off in a singles match on the January 6 edition of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. It’s hidden from none that things have been extremely ugly between the two for quite some time. Their recent face-off at the RAW on Netflix Kickoff Show at WWE’s headquarters almost turned physical.
In tonight’s episode of RAW, the two may get punished by the management. There is a possibility that The Best in The World and The Visionary will exchange blows tonight.
Their potential brawl could escalate backstage, and they might even injure referees and the security staff. This could prompt the company to take strong action against the two, and their upcoming high-voltage match may get canceled.
However, RAW GM Adam Pearce may fight to keep the match intact because fans have been clamoring for it. Pearce could request WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H to not cancel the match at the last moment because it’s a huge contest and the entire world has been waiting for it. Later, the company could announce the match would go as planned on January 6, 2025.
That said, the angle is speculative at this point.
CM Punk and Seth Rollins’ feud may continue until WWE WrestleMania 41
The upcoming clash between CM Punk and Seth Rollins may not be their final in-ring battle. If the match on January 6 doesn’t end conclusively, or some outside interferences happen, the promotion may book a rematch for WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
There have also been rumors that Rollins and Punk’s better halves, Becky Lynch and AJ Lee, respectively, could also get involved in the storyline. Becky is also anticipated to return on the January 6 edition of RAW. She may come out to support her husband during the match.
Who knows? We may even see Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, coming out to confront The Man. The two women could later battle at the Royal Rumble on February 1, 2025. The company may then announce a Mixed Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 41. However, this is speculative at this point.
In essence, the animosity between Punk and Rollins is deeply personal. The Visionary hates The Second City to the core and vice versa. In fact, Seth has been taking shots at Punk ever since the latter returned to WWE last year.
It was expected that they would clash at WrestleMania 40. However, Punk got injured during the Men’s Royal Rumble Match earlier this year, allegedly forcing the creative team to pivot. Now that the match is happening, it will be interesting to see who has the last laugh on January 6.
