Chad Gable, who appeared on WWE RAW’s debut on Netflix, was booked to face a luchador next Monday. The company also seemingly confirmed the arrival of a former AEW star during Monday’s show at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.
On RAW’s premiere episode on Netflix, WWE aired another vignette that Pentagon Jr. is coming to the show. Teasers began appearing on the December 16 episode of the red brand, with more details being added every week. Monday’s short video featured the name Penta and his iconic mask design.
While it’s unclear when the former AEW star will make his WWE debut, Chad Gable went to RAW general Adam Pearce and demanded to face the best luchador he could find. It was made official, and many fans are thinking that the mystery opponent will be Pentagon Jr.
In a post on Instagram, Gable shared the graphic for his match next week on RAW in San Jose, California. He also mocked whichever star he will face in what could be a very entertaining match.
“Wonder how stupid his mask is gonna be…,” Gable wrote.
Chad Gable has won two matches in a row, beating his former Alpha Academy students Akira Tozawa on December 16 and Otis on December 30. Gable and his stable American Made will look to make a statement next week on RAW.
Triple H seemingly confirms Chad Gable’s opponent for next week
Speaking on the RAW on Netflix postshow press conference, Triple H was asked by reporters about any clues on who will be facing Chad Gable next week. The Chief Content Officer subtly confirmed the identity of the luchador with a one-sentence reply.
“I’m sure you’ve already figured it out,” Triple H said.
There are currently three masked stars on the WWE roster: Rey Mystero, Dragon Lee, and Axiom. However, all hints seemingly point to Pentagon Jr., who was in AEW from 2019 to 2024. He was a one-time AEW World Tag Team Champion with his brother Rey Fenix and a one-time AEW World Trios Champion with Fenix and Pac, who was famously known as Neville in WWE.
Before AEW, Pentagon Jr. also performed in promotions such as AAA, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, Lucha Underground, and Major League Wrestling.
