Jey Uso had a fantastic start to WWE RAW in 2025, and it looks like more good things will come for Main Event Jey in the coming weeks. Today, he sent a two-word message after he received a World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther.
On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, Gunther made his presence felt and addressed the crowd. This led to Jey Uso’s arrival and he revealed he would challenge The Ring General for the World Heavyweight Championship under the new era’s second-ever Saturday Night’s Main Event ahead of Royal Rumble 2025.
However, Gunther seemed unbothered as he was confident heading into the match due to his past record against Jey Uso. Today, the former Intercontinental Champion sent a message on Instagram heading into his first World Heavyweight Championship match of 2025.
“On me…,” Uso wrote on Instagram.
Why is Jey Uso getting a title shot at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event?
Over a year ago, Jey Uso became a singles star in the Stamford-based promotion under the new regime and made Monday Night RAW his new home away from Jimmy Uso and The Bloodline. However, he feuded with his brother and won at WrestleMania XL.
After his move to the red brand, he had a handful of opportunities to compete for championship gold in the men’s division. Unfortunately, he failed on different occasions until he finally captured the Intercontinental Championship from Bron Breakker, which he lost in less than a month.
Earlier this month, WWE RAW made its Netflix debut, and Jey Uso competed on the show against Drew McIntyre. In the end, Uso rolled McIntyre up for a quick win and yeeted his way to the back. The win over The Scottish Warrior was the reason behind the upcoming title match against Gunther.
As of now, no stipulation has been announced for the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match against The Ring General at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
