John Cena could earn a World Championship shot through a surprising path, says WWE analyst; it’s not the Royal Rumble

John Cena returned last Monday on WWE RAW to embark on his Farewell Tour. WWE analyst Sam Roberts recently addressed a scenario where the Leader of the Cenation could earn a World Championship shot at SummerSlam 2025.

During his promo on RAW’s debut on Netflix, the 16-time World Champion acknowledged his losing streak in singles competition. He claimed he did not deserve a World Title shot and it would be almost impossible to get one. However, he then pointed out that he could get the opportunity by entering and winning this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts addressed the possibility of Cena losing at the Royal Rumble and even the Elimination Chamber Matches. Meanwhile, he agreed with a fan that the Leader of the Cenation winning the King of the Ring Tournament could provide him with the World Championship shot at SummerSlam:

“If he lost the Rumble and the Chamber, like, if he got to King of the Ring and hadn’t got a title shot yet, it could, yeah, yeah, I didn’t even think about King of the Ring but that’s a good call. I mean, it could be interesting,” he said. [1:18:41 – 1:18:53]

WWE analyst thinks John Cena will win the Men’s Royal Rumble 2025

On his Cheap Heat podcast, WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg discussed John Cena’s appearance on RAW’s debut on Netflix last Monday and the Leader of the Cenation’s announcement that he would compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.

The former 24/7 Champion disclosed that he currently believes the 16-time World Champion will win the Royal Rumble and earn his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania 41:

“I mean, I’ll tell you what, today really made me believe John Cena wins that Royal Rumble,” he said.

It will be interesting to see if Cena will win his 17th World Championship before hanging up his boots by the end of this year.
