Tiffany Stratton has finally cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to become the new WWE Women’s Champion. It happened on SmackDown this past Friday, on the show’s first three-hour episode in history.
Nia Jax was figuratively, and literally, stabbed in the back by Tiffy when the latter hit her with the briefcase as she climbed onto the top turnbuckle to hit an Annihilator on Naomi, whom she bested in a title defense on the show. This allowed Bianca Belair, who was out to save Naomi, to hit The Irresistible Force with the K.O.D. Stratton subsequently dragged The EST and dumped her outside before cashing in. It seems a given that Jax will retaliate. This is why WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry believes Tiffany Stratton needs a muscle.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Busted Open podcast, Mark Henry noted that The Buff Barbie is very similar to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, in that both of them have an innate personality that screams heel. So, if that is the direction WWE is going, then Stratton needs someone to watch her back:
“Oh, snap! Now she’s gonna have to deal with Nia,” Mark Henry noted. “Nia can very easily give her the, ‘Oh. Okay. Good game. I see,’ or she could be like, ‘You waited. You set me up. You buttered me up. You didn’t care. Now I’m gonna…’ — and they can go either way. But regardless of the fact, Tiffy is gonna have to have a heavy. She needs someone now to run interference. Who is that gonna be?” he wondered. [From 3:38 to 4:18]
Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton had worked together ever since Jax won the Women’s Title from Bayley at SummerSlam last year. Although The Buff Barbie always seemed like a threat to The Irresistible Force, WWE kept them together until the cash-in finally happened.
Is the rumored first-time-ever Tiffany Stratton fight going to happen at WrestleMania 41?
There was a rumor that made the rounds on socials recently, which was of a WrestleMania bout that Tiffany Stratton had previously expressed a desire for. It is against none other than 14-time World Champion, Charlotte Flair.
The Queen has been absent from television since December 2023 owing to injuries. She has been giving updates on her recovery on her socials ever since. Perhaps a return is imminent.
