CM Punk and Seth Rollins have been embroiled in a heated storyline. The icons are all set for a singles match on RAW’s season premiere on Netflix on January 6, 2025. Adam Pearce officially announced their bout after Punk and Rollins had an intense brawl and were separated by security personnel on the December 16, 2024, edition of the red brand.
The latest episode of Monday Night RAW went off the air with Punk and Rollins bombarding each other with fierce shots. In some instances, it appeared that the arch-rivals crossed lines that should not have been crossed. However, during their verbal jousting, the Straight-Edge Superstar took some personal shots at WWE management and The Visionary. Punk expressed that he had always loved the company but hated the people in control, who he felt favored Rollins.
Following this incident, Seth Rollins could turn heel and reform the iconic Authority faction with Triple H, as Punk even targeted The Game and his family during his promo, and the history between The Second City Saint and The King Of Kings is sufficient for them to start an on-screen angle; a revival of the iconic stable would lead to a spectacular showdown at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
CM Punk vs Seth Rollins might end before WrestleMania 41
The feud has been planned since The Second City Saint returned to the Stamford-based promotion in 2023. Last year, they were initially scheduled to clash on night one of WrestleMania 40. However, the company had to scrap those plans immediately after The Straight-Edge Superstar sustained a real-life injury at the 2024 Royal Rumble.
Fans expect their rivalry to be a multi-match feud that will ultimately lead to a showdown at WrestleMania 41. Regardless, their storyline might conclude before the Show of Shows this year.
Some reports have indicated that WWE creatives are considering a mega-clash between CM Punk and Roman Reigns for the Showcase of Immortals this year. However, this is just speculation at present. It remains to be seen what plans WWE creatives have for the Punk and Seth Rollins saga in the near future.
