The Rock returned on the WWE RAW Netflix premiere last night, and now it seems he is back in a bigger way than we saw in 2024. After a blockbuster appearance on WWE’s flagship show, the legend is set to make more history for the company in the new year. Information just broke to reveal how The Rock brought unexpected success to the company this week.
The Final Boss teased his NXT debut during his brief RAW promo on Monday in Los Angeles, then took to Instagram from backstage and said he’d see the WWE Universe at the live NXT New Year’s Evil event. The company has since confirmed the appearance, which will see the Hollywood heavyweight appear alongside his daughter Ava, who is the NXT General Manager. Tonight’s show is also taking place in LA at the Shrine Expo Hall, which isn’t far from the Intuit Dome.
NXT’s fifth annual New Year’s Evil special was expected to draw a packed crowd before The People’s Champion made his big announcement last night. However, WWE saw a significant uptick in ticket sales following the reveal, and on Tuesday morning, WrestleTix reported that the show sold out hours before.
World Wrestling Entertainment had distributed 1,793 tickets on the Shrine Expo Hall’s setup of 1,793 seats as of this morning, meaning there were zero available tickets at that point. The resale market had 47 tickets.
There were more than 243 tickets sold in the last two days, and as soon as The Rock dropped his teaser from RAW, the remaining tickets went very quickly. Two seats were made available early this afternoon, priced at $181.96 each after fees, and as of now, they are still available. The standard non-resale General Admission, Standing Room, and Balcony seats ranged from $69 – $97, with re-sale prices topping out at $438.
WWE and the venue opened up at least 40 seats later in the afternoon, while others re-appeared on the seating chart for some reason. With less than one hour before showtime, there are currently 21 standard seats open and 29 that are also available for resale.
