Paul Heyman kicked off WWE SmackDown by stating that Roman Reigns was once again the Tribal Chief. He then called out Cody Rhodes and told him that Roman wanted his title back by winning the Royal Rumble.
Kevin Owens showed up from the crowd and said that Cody had gotten worse, shaking hands with The Rock on RAW and now shaking hands with Paul Heyman on SmackDown. He added that Cody betrayed the entire WWE Universe, especially if he gave Roman a title shot.
Cody ran out into the crowd and attacked Kevin Owens before Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga appeared behind Paul Heyman. Heyman was backing off when Jimmy Uso showed up with a steel chair, allowing him to escape.
The Bloodline cornered Jimmy in the ring, however, and beat him up with the chair before officials came out to stop them. Fatu super-kicked two officials before Cody Rhodes came back and made the save, chasing off the Bloodline.
Fatu and Tonga were backstage after the opening segment, saying that they wouldn’t leave, and fought with security when LA Knight came out and took them down, saying that he had a title to win.

WWE SmackDown Results: Chelsea Green (c) vs. Michin – Women’s United States Championship match
Michin tried for her finisher immediately, and Green dodged it before running out of the ring. Back inside, Michin got some strikes and dropkick for a near fall before going for a top rope move.
Green dodged the dive and sent Michin throat-first into the ropes before tossing her outside into the barricades. Michin beat the count and got back in the ring before Niven ran a distraction, and Green dodged a crossbody before rolling Michin up for the win.
Result: Chelsea Green def. Michin to retain the Women’s United States Championship
After the match, Michin tried to attack Green, but Niven saved her and took Michin out with a leg drop.
Grade: B
All the tag teams were yelling at Nick Aldis backstage, and the latter booked a match between Pretty Deadly and Los Garza, as well as Motor City Machine Guns and A-Town Down Under.
WWE SmackDown Results: Los Garza vs. Pretty Deadly
Los Garza had the early advantage, and Berto took Wilson down and hit a moonsault for a near fall. Pretty Deadly took double super-kicks before Wilson returned with an arm drag and got the dropkick for a near fall.
Prince hit a neckbreaker before tossing Berto outside the ring. Angel came in and got a backbreaker before hitting a diving crossbody for a near fall. Wilson yelled for DIY to come out and help, but no one showed. Instead, Elektra Lopez distracted the ref, and Santos Escobar hit a cheap shot before Los Garza hit their double-team finisher for the win.
Result: Los Garza def. Pretty Deadly

WWE SmackDown Results: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. LA Knight – United States Championship match
LA Knight had the early advantage and sent Nakamura to the floor before kicking him into the announce desk and slamming his head on it.
Nakamura turned it around and sent Knight into the ringpost before we headed for a break. Back on SmackDown, Knight got a big slam for a near fall before trying for a rollup.
Nakamura got a big German Suplex off the ropes before Knight came back with a Superplex for another near fall. LA Knight locked in a Sharpshooter, but Nakamura broke out of it and took him down. He missed the Kinshasa. Knight also missed the BFT before the champ hit the knee strike, but LA got his foot on the ropes to break the count.
Nakamura exposed the turnbuckle but missed the knee strike, hitting his knee on it instead. Knight got the BFT and was about to win when Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga attacked him, ending the match.

After the match, Knight took hip attacks in the corner before Jacob hit a moonsault. Jimmy Uso and Cody Rhodes came out to fight them, tossing the Bloodline over the barricades.
Nick Aldis came out to stop the fight and Cody told him to set up a match tonight.
WWE SmackDown Results: Motor City Machine Guns vs. A-Town Down Under
Waller and Shelley were in the ring early on and the latter was isolated early on and took some big moves in the corner. The Machine Guns got the upper hand after a break on SmackDown and sent Theory to the floor before Sabin got a big missile dropkick on Waller.
Shelley and Sabin got double baseball slides and double dives to the floor before Waller took a double-team move in the ring for a near fall. Waller turned it around and took down the former tag champs before the Machine Guns hit a big double-team sequence on Waller and the Skull and Bones on Theory for the win.

Backstage on SmackDown, Pretty Deadly asked why DIY didn’t help them tonight. Gargano fake promised them a tag match, pretending they were friends.
Apollo Crews showed up after DIY left and told Pretty Deadly that the champs weren’t being honest.
Tiffany Stratton was out next to celebrate her Women’s Championship win. Byron Saxton asked her about Nia Jax, and Stratton said that she let Jax think she was stupid, allowing her to take the title from her.
Nia’s music hit, and she walked out angrily before calling her an “ungrateful little sh*t.” Nia said that she made Stratton, and it took her long enough to win the title. Jax looked like she was about to attack Stratton when Bayley came out and called them both stupid.
Bayley said she deserved a title shot before Naomi came out with Bianca Belair and said she wanted it.
Jax told Naomi no one cared and attacked her and Bianca before a brawl broke out, and everyone teamed up on Nia.
Stratton went up top and took everyone out with a moonsault before walking out with the title. Nick Aldis came out and said that Jax, Naomi, Belair, and Bayley would face each other right then for a shot at Tiffany’s title.
WWE SmackDown Results: Bayley vs. Bianca Belair vs. Naomi vs. Nia Jax
Naomi and Belair teamed up off the bat and worked on Nia, but Jax managed to take Bianca down with a powerbomb before Bayley broke up the pin. The tag champs took down Nia and Bayley in a tower of doom spot before we headed for another break.
Back on SmacKDown, Bayley and Bianca ejected Nia from the ring before facing each other. Nia came back inside, and Belair got a 450 splash on her before all three opponents tried to pin Jax simultaneously.
Belair was about to get the KOD on Bayley when Candice LeRae interfered, and the distraction caused Bianca to hit Naomi with her hair. Outside the ring, Belair took LeRae down and sent Jax over the announce desk while Bayley got the rose plant in the ring and picked up the win.
Result: Bayley def. Bianca Belair, Naomi & Nia Jax

WWE SmackDown Results: Cody Rhodes & Jimmy Uso vs. Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga
Cody and Tama Tonga kicked off the match, and the WWE Champ hit a big vertical suplex right before tags were made. Jimmy took a big pop-up Samoan Drop from Fatu before we headed for a break.
Back on SmackDown, Jimmy took the hip attack from Fatu before countering a top rope move and hitting a big senton. Cody came back in and hit the disaster kick before tossing both heels outside and hitting a big dive.
Back in the ring, Cody got some strikes on Tonga, but the latter came back with a big DDT. Fatu took the Cody Cutter, and Jimmy sent him over the announce desk before Kevin Owens arrived.
Cody ran after KO, and they brawled their way backstage. In the ring, Jimmy got the Uso Splash for a near fall before Fatu took him down and hit the Moonsault for the win.
Result: Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga def. Jimmy Uso and Cody Rhodes
Grade: B+
After the match, we saw Cody and Kevin fighting in the area surrounding the entrance ramp.
The champ sent KO through two tables while on top of some road cases before medics and officials intervened, and SmackDown went off the air.
