The 2025 WWE Royal Rumble Match is fast approaching and is set to take place in Indianapolis on February 1. In the coming weeks, we expect male and female superstars to declare for the respective Men’s and Women’s matches.
One of the superstars who is expected to compete at the Men’s Royal Rumble is CM Punk. The Best in the World came very close to winning it last year, but Cody Rhodes was the one to eventually earn the victory for a second year in a row. This year, though, things might be different. Punk will be one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble Match and could be the one to stand tall and clinch his ticket to a title match at WrestleMania 41.
At the same time, Seth Rollins could challenge Gunther and dethrone him, becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion. Should these two happen, CM Punk could turn heel and go after The Visionary for the title, with Seth Rollins retaining his face character.
WWE has hinted at a heel turn for both megastars, but Punk could eventually have a character turn. On that occasion, WWE could have Part II between CM Punk and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41, with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line this time.
CM Punk aims to win the Royal Rumble and become a champion in WWE
WWE asked superstars to share their goals for 2025. The Best in the World made it clear that he wanted to win the Royal Rumble and become champion 14 months after his return to the business.
“Win the Royal Rumble, beat everybody, win all the titles, continue to make the New Day dress in the janitor’s closet, and shave Dominik Mysterio’s mustache,” CM Punk said. [H/T Sports Illustrated]
The Best in the World will be in action next Monday when RAW officially moves to Netflix. Punk will face Seth Rollins in a match that could become the show’s main event.
The two megastars have been rivals for years. This will be the first part of their feud, which could extend through WrestleMania 41.
